LODD Announcement: CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department Fire Apparatus Engineer (FAE) Danny Cook
It is with profound sadness that CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department and CAL FIRE, Local 2881, announce the passing of one of their own.
Fire Apparatus Engineer Daniel "Danny" Cook passed away on December 31, 2025, after suffering a medical emergency while engaged in fire suppression efforts. His passing is a profound loss to the fire service and to all who had the privilege of serving alongside him. He is survived by his wife, Joanne, and six children.
FAE Cook will be remembered for his professionalism, commitment to service, and the positive influence he had on his fellow firefighters and the community. His legacy will continue to live on through the lives he touched throughout his career.
Memorial services will be held to honor FAE Cook's dedication and service. At the request of the family, these services will not be open to public or media. We respectfully ask that the family's privacy be honored at this time. All department personnel attending the services are requested to wear Class A or Class B uniforms.
