Fall 2025 Southern California Grant Opportunity

Apply Now: California Fire Foundation Fall 2025 Southern California Grant Opportunity

APPLICATION PERIOD CURRENTLY OPEN.

The California Fire Foundation is pleased to announce the Fall 2025 Southern California Grant Opportunity for California-based fire departments, firefighter associations, nonprofit organizations, and tribal entities serving communities within Southern California Edison’s service area.

Wildfire risk continues to rise across California, with nearly three million households at high or extreme risk. Under-resourced communities are often the most vulnerable, facing challenges that leave them without the tools or support needed to prepare. Through this grant cycle, CFF aims to close those gaps, funding projects that address the urgent needs identified during our recent California Fire Foundation’s Wildfire Mitigation & Resiliency Symposium.

Whether you are a fire department working on vegetation management, a nonprofit helping low-income residents, a tribal entity advancing Indigenous land stewardship practices, or a Fire Safe Council expanding community preparedness, this opportunity can help resource your essential work.

Focus Areas

Projects must align with one or more of the following symposium-informed priorities:

  • Cross-Cutting Strategies – flexible funding models, equity-focused metrics, wildfire planning (CWPPs, RWMPs, RPPs).
  • Built Environment Strategies – evacuation planning, road improvements, water access and storage, local adaptation planning.
  • Landscape Strategies – agricultural buffers and greenbelts, prescribed fire and herbivory programs, green space fuel breaks, Indigenous stewardship.
  • Community Strategies – Firewise USA and Fire Safe Council expansion, multilingual outreach, wildfire education and organizing, home hardening and retrofit micro-grants.
