LODD: CAL FIRE Fire Captain Paul Rotondaro

CAL FIRE and Local 2881 are saddened to announce the loss of one of their own.

CAL FIRE Fire Captain Paul Rotondaro, passed away on October 2, 2019 after he was in a car crash in Gustine, California.

Brother Rotondaro began his career in the fire service with CAL FIRE in 2006 as a Firefighter I in the Madera-Mariposa-Merced Unit and worked through the ranks to Fire Captain.

Memorial Information

A memorial service for Brother Rotondaro will be held on Thursday, October 10th at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 671 E. Yosemite Ave, Merced, CA 95340.The service will begin at 10:00 AM.

Uniformed personnel are requested to arrive at 8:30 AM. The family has requested dress attire for uniformed personnel to be either Department Class A Uniform or Administrative Uniform. Firefighter I's can wear long-sleeve shirt with tie.

Static Equipment is permitted at the memorial location and should arrive no later than 8:00 AM. Please RSVP HERE.

Honor Guards from local government agencies wishing to participate in Thursday's service will need to RSVP with FC Rich Cordova at Richard.Cordova@fire.ca.gov.
