LODD: Orange County Fire Authority Captain Robin A. Culp
It is with great sorrow that Orange County Fire Authority and the Orange County Professional Firefighters Association, Local 3631 share news about the passing of one of their own, Fire Captain/Paramedic Robin "Rob" Culp.
Captain Rob Culp passed away on March 4, 2024, after a courageous battle with job-related lung cancer. With over 25 years of dedication to the fire service, he continuously served the citizens and his community with honor and distinction.
Rob became interested in firefighting after he experienced the Laguna Beach fires back in 1993 where he spent a majority of his time helping friends and loved ones save memorabilia from their homes. He was admired for his unwavering commitment for helping people.
During his 16 years with the Orange County Fire Authority, Culp served as Firefighter Paramedic, Fire Apparatus Engineer, and most recently as Fire Captain/Paramedic.
Rob was an active part of the technical rescue truck program and a member of FEMA CA-TF5 as a Safety Officer. He was also passionate about running the Explorer Program for the next generation of firefighters.
Additionally, he was an avid surfer, snowboarder, and mountain biker and leaves behind a lasting legacy of courage, commitment and care in the communities he served. The only thing he loved more than these things was his family.
