Glenn L. Allen
Department: Los Angeles City
Deceased: February 18, 2011
Firefighter/paramedic Glenn L. Allen followed in the footsteps of his father, an LAFD engineer, and joined the Los Angeles City Fire Department as an ambulance driver in 1974. He became a paramedic in 1976 and later cross-trained as a firefighter, spending just over 36 years serving the citizens of Los Angeles. Glenn had a true servant's heart, always seeing to it that the needs of others were met before his own. To his family, he was a loving example of what a husband, father, brother and son should be. Glenn was 61 when he gave his life in the line of duty. His first grandchild was born the following day.
