San Francisco Fire Lieutenant Garet "Gary" Caulfield suffered a fatal heart attack while in the line of duty. Described by one of his colleagues as, "the kind of guy you want your son to grow up to be," Fire Lieutenant Caulfield dedicated 29 years of his life to the fire service. His career began with the Burlingame Fire Department in 1973. A year later, Caulfield was hired by the San Francisco Fire Department where his skill and intellect on the job quickly climbed him up the ranks. His compassion and outgoing personality inspired so many lives.
