Ronald Contreras was known as the " Silver Fox" by his family, friends and comrades in the San Diego Fire Department. He was born in La Mesa, California and was the youngest male sibling of eleven children. During his 31 years of service, the " Silver Fox" participated in a multitude of fire and rescue calls, but took special pride in delivering many babies on calls. His fellow firefighters were most familiar with his flair for cooking. In 207, Brother Contreras lost his battle with job-related lung cancer.
