Henry Doody embodied the finest qualities of a true firefighter and was a highly respected member of the Oakland Fire Department who served the citizens of Oakland with honor and distinction for 32 years. He began his career in 1907 as a Substitute Driver and loved everything about the fire service. He passed away from a job-related illness in September 1939. At the time of his death, Henry was survived by his wife and two sons.
