Joey Duran loved the fire service and began his career as a firefighter with the Paradise Fire Department prior to joining the City of Chico. In total, he spent 27 years as a firefighter, earning several awards for his career and serving as the leader of the City of Chico Fire Department Rescue Team. Joey loved working with wood, working in his yard and running. Joey succumbed to the effects of job-related cancer in September of 2018.
