Mark Edria worked with CAL FIRE for 30 years and retired in 2019. While he always wanted to be known as a great firefighter, more than anything, he wanted to be known for caring for his fellow firefighters and that they knew he was there for them when they needed him. Before he passed, Mark Edria said, “My CAL FIRE Brothers and Sisters, thank you for the fellowship. I came looking for a job, and I left with a family.” Mark’s passion for mentoring and guiding youth was evident through his involvement in coaching various local sports teams, including Hartnell Little League, Spreckels, BV, Salinas High, and founding the Swish basketball travel team.
