Robert "Bob" Forbes started his fire service career in Virgina with the Newport news Fire Department.  After moving to California, he served seven years with the Compton Fire Department before joining the Ventura County Fire Department in 1972 where he rose to teh position of Fire Engineer.  He lost the battle to job-related lung cancer at the age of 54.
