Edward Gates and Paul Nesgis were over run by fire and killed while fighting a fire near Calandra Lookout on Williams Peak in Monterey County in 1945. Brother Nesgis was honored on the memorial wall when it was unveiled in Spring 2002. Brother Gates was presented to the California Firefighters Memorial just this year.
