For over 30 years, Scott Gomes served the citizens of California with honor and pride. Scott began his CAL FIRE career in 1989 as a Firefighter I in the San Luis Obispo Unit (SLU). He was always a helper and a giver and entered the fire service right after high school.  In his free time, Scott enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.  He loved his family, coaching the local youth sport teams and mentoring the youth in his community. In November 2022, Scott passed away from a job-related illness. He is survived by his wife and their two sons.
