James H. Goodenow
Department: Los Angeles City
Deceased: May 08, 1985
James Goodenow, known to friends and family as "Goodie," loved the adrenalin rush that struck whenever the alarm bell sounded. It was just one of many things that he cherished about the fire service through his 22-year career. He worked as an Engineer and later Captain of the Los Angeles City Fire Department, but his career was cut short after a battle with job-related cancer. His strong work ethic and leadership qualities have made him a role model for not only his fellow firefighters, but his two daughters, as well.
