Larry Edward Grafft began his career with CAL FIRE as a seasonal firefighter in 1983, and would go on to build a fire service career that spanned three decades. Over the course of his
career, he was known for his tireless work ethic, integrity and his strong support and mentoring of his fellow employees. In 1998, he became a member of the Mendocino County SWAT team, a position he would hold for the next 15 years. Outside of work, Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowboarding. He is survived by his wife Valarie, son Kristopher, mother Jeanette, sister Lisa and nephews, Richard and Anthony. Larry died in 2015 following a battle with job-related cancer.
