Steven Gregory found his niche in life as a firefighter 15 years ago and performed that job with honor. He began his firefighting career at Camarillo State Hospital, joined the Ventura County Fire Department in 1998, and spent the last eight years as a firefighter in Camarillo. He had a keen sense of humor, a contagious laugh and was known for always having a joke at the ready. "Steve kept everybody happy and laughing," said Fire Capt. Steve Winter. At 46, Steven Gregory passed away from job-related cancer.
