Michael Scott Hallenbeck
Department: USFS
Deceased: August 08, 2015
Michael Scott Hallenbeck was only 21 when he lost his life battling a fire in the very beginnings of his career as a firefighter. Michael grew up in Shingle Springs, California and enjoyed spending his time playing sports and skiing in the mountains, which he learned to do at the age of two. Michael trained and became a firefighter for the U.S. Forest Service’s Lake Tahoe unit, a job he was proud of, as he was the kind of person who would do anything to help someone else. Michael is survived by his parents, Kirby and Toni, and his sister, Jessica.
