After braving a two-year battle with occupational cancer, Los Angeles City Active Apparatus Operator, Bret Harris passed away on August 4, 2006. He had been a proud member of the department and United Firefighters of Los Angeles City for 17 years. He and his beloved wife, Lori, were married on October 3, 1992. Bret was a faithful Christian, and devoted his life to serving his family and his church. Together, they raised five beautiful children - Russ, Jacob, Adam, Corben, and Bailey. Whether enjoying an outdoor adventure with his children, tooling around the house, or attending church services, Bret embraced every single day and every single moment of his life as a gift.
