Steve Herman, better known as "Pee Wee" at the fire department, never considered himself a hero.  "I'm just doing my job," he would say, too humble to accept praise for a job well done.  Steven had a gruff persona but once you got to know him, he was a true firefighters' firefighter and a real family man.  He was known as "Butthead" to his daughter, and was his son's best fishing and basketball buddy.  He passed away from job-related pancreatic cancer.
