Michael ‘Mike’ Horton’s interest in the fire service was inspired by his brother-in-law, who was a firefighter. He started his career in the fire service with Norco Fire Department in 1980; and in 2001 joined Riverside County Fire Department before spending the rest of his career with San Bernadino County Fire Department. Mike loved being with his family. He also loved the river, his boat, and his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Mike passed away from job-related cancer in November 2022 and is survived by his wife, five children and preceded in death by his son.
