Humble. Dependable. Witty. This was the Richard Ibarra that family, friends and co-workers will always remember. A US Navy veteran, Richard joined the Cosumnes CSD Fire Department in 1999 and loved every aspect of firefighting, from fighting raging wildfires to teaching fire safety to preschoolers. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, kayaking and exploring with his family. He died of job-related respiratory failure, caused by pneumonia, after a 10-year career with the fire service.
