William “Bill” James had a 21-year career with the Los Angeles City Fire Department, where he achieved the ranks of Firefighter, Engineer, and Captain. Outside of work, Bill enjoyed mountain biking, running, boating, surfing, bodysurfing, and paddle boarding. Above all, he loved spending time with his family. Bill succumbed to the effects of job-related cancer in December 2021. He is survived by his wife and two children.
