Referred to as "Randy" by friends and family, Orice Miller Jr., was born in 1935; he spent most of his childhood living back and forth between California and Arkansas. Once he graduated from high school, he went directly into the Air Force during the Korean War. He won a medal for pulling a South Korean Airman out of a burning airplane while stationed in Korea. Orice joined the Ventura County Fire Department in 1961 and worked as an engineer within various stations. Being a part of the fire service had always been a dream of Orice's. When off duty, he enjoyed camping, fishing, and most of all, adored spending quality time with his wife and daughters.
