For over 25 years, John Lawrence got the job done at LA City Fire Department. He held the ranks of firefighter, Captain I, and Captain II and received numerous accolades including the Thomas Taylor Award of Excellence and three nominations for Firefighter of the Year. Off duty, he was instrumental in organizing charity events and fundraisers in the LA area including The Benefit for our Bravest, The Hollywood Firefighters Festival and Grateful Hearts. He will be best remembered for his brave work on the front lines and his charitable contributions. Job-related cardiac arrest took his life.
