To those that knew him best, David Garrett Lezchuk will be remembered as a loving and devoted son, husband, brother and father. To the many lives he touched during his career as a firefighter, he will be remembered as a hero. David began his career with CAL FIRE by graduating at the top of his academy class. He would continue on this path of excellence over the course of his career, qualifying as an expert in cliff rescue and becoming a member of the department’s helicopter engine unit. David died in 2011 following a battle with job-related cancer.
