Brent "Lovey" Lovrien always wanted to be a firefighter and he took great pride in his profession. He began his career as an auxiliary firefighter with the Downey Fire Department and soon became a federal firefighter, stationed at the naval base in Long Beach in 1995. In 1997, he completed the LAFD Lateral Fire Academy and joined Los Angeles City Fire Department, where he served for 10 years. Brent's dynamic personality and humor, coupled with his strong work ethics, put him out there on and off duty for anyone who needed his help, never seeking praise, but ever ready to lend a helping hand. His death was caused by injuries resulting from an explosion in the line of duty.
