William W. Lucas

Always respected by his fellow firefighters and the cadets who trained under him, William Lucas was a man of notoriety. He began his career with the Corona Fire Department in July of 1960, when it had first opened. Off duty, he continued to pursue education, as he took Fire Science classes at Mt. San Antonio College and Chaffey College for ten years; he eventually earned his AA degree. William "Bill" Lucas rose through the ranks, as he had begun as a Fire Engineer and was later promoted to captain. During his firefighting career, William truly proved himself to be a role model - respectable, hardworking, and dedicated to the fire service.
