Rudolph ‘Rudy’ Metzger became interested in a career as a firefighter after graduating University.  He served the citizens of Carlsbad with pride and honor for over 30 years.  Outside of work he loved nothing more than to spend time with his family.  He passed away from job-related cancer in October 2019.
