Firefighter, Eric Mikel, embodied the finest qualities of a true firefighter and served the citizens of Alameda County with honor for 14 years.  Having started his career in the tech industry, Eric decided to pursue a more meaningful career as a firefighter.   Eric was a proud graduate of the Carl Holmes Executive Development Institute, as well as a member of the ACFD Safety Committee.  Eric was a passionate gym enthusiast.  He loved spending time with his family watching movies and on day trips around the Bay Area.  In June 2019, Eric succumbed to the effects of job-related behavioral health.
