Matthew Moore's universe revolved around his wife, children and the fire service. He began his career in the Murrieta Fire Department in 1990 and rose through the ranks to the post of Captain in 2001. He was always willing to mentor and help young people pursue their dream of becoming a professional firefighter í__ the dream that he had achieved in his own life. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed backpacking and fishing, as well as spending time in Yosemite National Park with his family. He passed away of job-related meningitis.
