Charles E. Morton got his first taste of firefighting by working with the California Conservation Corps in Chico, CA. This led him into his hotshot career with the U.S. Forest Service. He worked his way up to be the squad boss of the Big Bear Interagency Hotshot Crew. Charlie loved working on his home, fixing up all the facets and making it his own. He was also an avid gardener, constantly working to improve the landscaping.
