Lisa L. Netsch
Department: USFS
Deceased: June 21, 1995
An accomplished and courageous aviator, Lisa Netsch inspired all those who knew her. With a degree in aeronautical engineering, she held a flight instructor license and taught aerobatics in her free time. She eventually became an aerial firefighter and flew as a co=pilot in a tanker, which engaged in aerial fire fighting operations all over the state. After dropping fire retardant on a fire near Anza-Borego State park, her tanker collided with a Beechcraft Baron operated by the USFS. She, alongside Gary Cockrell and Michael Smith, perished from the collision.
