Clayton Charles Ogden always loved helping people, so naturally he loved the fire service. He began his firefighting career as a volunteer with CAL FIRE and went on to become a firefighter/paramedic for Sanger before finding his home with the Santa Cruz Fire Department, where he served for nearly 19 years. Clayton received several awards throughout his career including the Santa Cruz FD Firefighter of the Year Award in 2014 and the Medal of Valor in 2017. Outside of work, Clayton dedicated his time to skiing and spending as much time as possible with his family. Clayton succumbed to the effects of job-related cancer and is survived by his wife, Rebekah, of 21 years and their three children, Colby, Samuel and Lily.
