Captain Greg Otto served 28 years in the fire service, with 13 years of his service with the City of San Luis Obispo Fire Department. Greg also served for nearly 3 years as Vice President for his union, Local 3523, to implement changes to protect his fellow brothers and sisters. Brother Otto founded the Paramedic SWAT program and Bike Medics, and served as a training officer. He received many awards including, The Employee of the Year Award, Special Congressional Award, Distinguished Service Award and countless others. Greg was an outstanding father to his two sons, Nick and Jacobs, and a devoted husband to his wife Katharine.
