David Powell had an unparalleled passion for the fire service. He started out his career with the Reedley Fire Department, where he worked his way through the ranks to fire chief before joining Cal EMA. His work ethic, passion and professionalism rubbed off on all who knew him and the departments he worked for. Outside of the job, David enjoyed farming, cooking and spending time with family, especially his four grandchildren. David passed away after a long battle with job-related kidney cancer.
