Steven L. Robinson
Rank: Pilot-Firefighter
Department: Los Angeles City
Deceased: August 09, 2015
Following in the footsteps of his father and brother, Steven L. Robinson joined the Los Angeles City Fire Department in 1986. Nine years later, Steven had earned a coveted position of aviation pilot within the department’s fire helicopter program, where he flew countless missions to keep the community safe. In March of 1998, Steven and his crew were rushing a critically injured 12-year old child to the hospital, when the tail rotor of his helicopter disintegrated. While he was able to steer the helicopter away from homes on the ground, the resulting crash claimed the life of the patient and three Los Angeles City firefighters. Steven survived the crash, only to succumb to his long-term injuries in 2015. He is survived by his brother, Richard, and children, Brandon and Kyle.
