Engineer Darren Rockett, known as " Rock" to his friends and co-workers, was born November 10, 1963. Appointed in 1997, " Rock" was a 14-year veteran of the Long Beach Fire Department and was promoted to engineer June 6, 2002. He actively participated in volunteer work and was the Senior Deacon at his church. He married his wife Jeanne in 1989, and together they settled in Long Beach, and began raising a family. Brother Rockett succumbed to a job-related illness a few days before his 48th birthday.
