Lowell F. Scarbrough
Department: Richmond
Deceased: February 21, 1967
Having been inspired by his late father Lee, Lowell Scarbrough was able to continue the family legacy while serving as part of the Richmond Fire Department. Tragedy struck the Scarbrough family, as Lowell was merely 5 years old when his father passed during an accidental gas explosion in 1927. Unfortunately, Lowell Scarbrough also gave his own life while in the line of duty in 1940. Both father and son have continued to serve as role models for their family; nephews, grandsons, and even great-grandsons of the Scarbrough name have been inspired by Lowell and Lee's valience and dedication to the fire service.
