James was one of the very first paramedics in the United States, a member of the first graduating paramedic squad from Daniel Freeman Hospital in Southern California where he received his training. He promoted to engineer and climbed the ranks to become a fire captain. He spent 34 years doing what he loved and that was helping others. James knew how to balance work and play. He enjoyed an occasional prank here and there. All those he worked with enjoyed his good, fun sense of humor. James always enjoyed a golf outing with his buddy. He strived to always win the longest drive competition. He developed into a solid golfer through sheer determination. James will always be remembered for his great love for golf. James leaves behind wife, Nancy, and son, Chris
