A native of Minnesota, David Stochl came to the East Bay Area when he was 13. He began his career with Moraga-Orinda Fire District in 1984 and dedicated 24 years to the department, until he reluctantly retired after being diagnosed with job-related brain cancer. He had a great sense of humor and could always be counted on to lighten the mood. David loved racing cars, boats and motorcycles, especially NASCAR. Complications from brain cancer ended his life.
