Dennis Guy Stubblefield
Department: Santa Fe Springs
Deceased: August 13, 2005
Dennis Stubblefield was born and raised in the Norwalk-Downey area and later was able to serve the community of Santa Fe Springs where he was hired as a Firefighter in 1974. Dennis was promoted to firefighter/paramedic in 1975, engineer in 1981 and captain in 1984. Dennis loved the fire service and firefighting ran in the family. His older brother, Darryle, served as a firefighter in Bullhead City and Marysville. Dennis married his wife, Judy, in 1968 and they moved to San Clemente in 1976 where they raised their sons, Rob and Doug. Dennis was a family man who kept busy with camping trips, motorcycles and coaching little league. Dennis earned the City of Santa Fe Springs Excellence of Innovation Award when he inventoried all the residences with security bars on their windows so incoming crews could prepare before arrival. In July 1992, he contracted job-related brain cancer and passed away on August 13, 2005.
