On April 5, 2005, Captain Robert "Bob" Tannahill lost his fight against job related lung cancer. He served with the West Covina Fire Department for 25 years, as a firefighter, firefighter paramedic, and fire captain. Bob was the department's EMS Coordinator, Paramedic Coordinator, and the department's representative and the California Fire Chiefs EMS section meetings. Brother Tannahill participated in the Firefighter Olympics in shooting and won more medals than any other firefighter in the history of his department. Bob loved the fire service and said there was no better job in the world. He is survived by his two children Scott and Christopher and his wife Sandra.
