On the morning of May 22nd, 2002, Alameda County Firefighter Sekou Turner lost his life after going into cardiac arrest while responding to a medical emergency call.  Hired by the Alameda County Fire Department and a member of the Alameda County/Emeryville/Oakland Fire Fighters Local 55, firefighter Turner had just begun a promising career.  After helping his fellow crewmembers load a patient into an ambulance, Turner suddenly collapsed.  The crew performed CPR en route to San Ramon Regional Medical Center, but they were unable to keep his pulse from dropping.  Firefighter Sekou Turner was 28 yars old.  He is survived by his beloved parents, relatives, friends, and comrades whose lives he touched so deeply.
