James Waldmeier served the citizens of San Luis Obispo with honor and pride for 14 years. He began his career as a civilian firefighter at Camp San Luis Obispo prior to joining the City of San Luis Obispo in 1942. James passed away from a heart attack while fighting a residential fire. At the time of his passing, he was survived by his wife and two children.
