Clyde M. Watarai joined the San Francisco Fire Department in 1998 at the encouragement of his firefighter friends and would go on to serve the public with honor and distinction for more than 15 years. For much of his career, he served at San Francisco International Airport’s Station One, building friendships and camaraderie that he would cherish for life. Always eager for adventure, Clyde took multiple motorcycle trips with friends on his Harley Davidson and once made the trek to Everest Base Camp. He is survived by his wife, Allison, and son, Evan. Clyde died in 2014 after a battle with job-related cancer.
