Robert Keith Werner
Department: Sacramento Metropolitan
Deceased: August 30, 2008
Hardworking, dependable, and dedicated - this is how family, friends, and colleagues will remember Bob Werner. Bob spent nearly 12 years in the U.S. Air Force earning the rank of tech sergeant and master crew chief before he joined the Rancho Cordova Fire Department (now the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District) in 1982 and was promoted to engineer. During his career, he was a lead instructor with the ROP Fire Control Program and a founding member and chairperson of the Sacramento Area Firefighters Local 522. In his spare time, he liked attending drum and bugle corps competitions, Scottish games, and reading. He died of cardiac arrest, less than two months before his retirement.
