Ronald Yale Wiley
Department: Richmond
Deceased: July 02, 2007
When friends and family think of Ronald Wiley, the phrase "larger than life" often comes to mind. It was not his physical size - it was his enveloping presence and enormous heart. During his 16-year career with Richmond Fire Department, Ronald earned promotions to Fire Inspector in 1997 and Deputy Fire Marshal in 2001. In his work ethic and regard for the safety of others, he was a role model to all, including his children Dantíë© and Kalesha. Ronald's ever-present humor and devotion to his family continued even in the face of personal tragedy. Only a year before his life was cut short by an on-duty vehicle accident, Ronald was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and wife of 25 years, Covetter Denise Wiley.
